Democracy Noir Free Film Screening
Updated: Sep 28

Indivisible Fremont CA (IFCA) invites the public to a free film screening of Democracy Noir: A New Dawn on Saturday, October 10, at 1:00 p.m. at Niles Discovery Church. The event is part of IFCA's new Film & Conversation Series, Our Empowered Community Empowers Our Democracy.
Democracy Noir is a documentary telling the inspiring story of resistance in Hungary to Viktor Orbán's regime, and of his stunning defeat in a democratic election.
The film will be shown in the church's Sanctuary Theater. Afterward, guests are invited to the Fellowship Hall for refreshments and a community conversation with Assembly member Alex Lee, 24th District about the film and what it means for protecting democracy at home.
"Protecting and securing our elections starts in the heart of every voter," said Lauren Teixeira, Co-Lead, Indivisible Fremont CA. “We are screening Democracy Noir on October 10th, just 24 days before the Mid-Term election on Tuesday, November 3.”
Our Empowered Community project will utilize documentary films to spark shared understanding and inspire dialogue as civic education—educating viewers while building connected, engaged communities. Focused post-screening conversations deepen this impact further, turning passive viewing into active reflection—transforming individual awareness into collective commitment and sustained democratic participation.
