Monty the Monarch to Fly High at No Kings, October 18th

ree

Monty the Monarch Butterfly has a wing span of 8 feet when fully unfurled to fly a full 7 feet up in the sky.

Monty is the creation of our very own Mary Kay, artist and seamstress, extraordinaire and one of the original founding BOBs (Badly Baffled Old Bags - AuntiFas) of Indivisible Fremont CA (IFCA).

Monty will join us for our rally in Fremont at the corner of Walnut Avenue and Paseo Padre Parkway.

Rumored to make an standing are Uncle Sam and the Statue of Liberty, in full life size - just ready to support our democracy and to be there for rally marchers to take some selfies or even group photos together. Where will you see Uncle Sam and the Statue of Liberty in Fremont and at the same place and same time? Join us for fun rally of our Tri-City communities - meet Monty, say "Hi" to Uncle Sam or salute the Statue of Liberty.

Important information from the rally organizing committee:

On October 18th, as we protest the increasing authoritarianism in the U.S., we will joyfully celebrate our American democracy with our community and our nation! We love our country and our neighbors!

Exciting News! CA Senator Aisha Wahab and Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan will be kicking off our No Kings event at 11:00 a.m. on the corner of Walnut Avenue and Paseo Padre Parkway.

The "No Kings Protest Jazz Band" will be playing across the street from the courthouse from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The  "No Kings II Sax Quartet" will be playing along Paseo during the protest, also.

There is sidewalk construction work  taking place along Walnut Ave. from Paseo to Liberty. This will not affect access to the parking lot behind the courthouse, not our ability to gather on the sidewalks along Paseo Padre. There's just an area on Walnut where you can't stand, but we encourage people to line Paseo from Walnut all the way to Mowry. The City of Fremont asks that we remain outside the construction delineation area for everyone’s safety. It will be clearly marked.

We remind you that this is a peaceful non-violent protest with NO civil disobedience. We will stay on the sidewalks, stay out of the bike lanes, and obey all laws. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, are prohibited. If hecklers or hostile individuals try to disrupt our event, please remain calm, do not engage, and move away. Safety captains wearing orange vests will be circulating if you need help. We will all respect and support one another.

We can't wait to see you on Saturday! Enjoy the day and have fun!
